Fine Finish Painting and Renovation Ltd.

Effective date: October 15, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of finefinishrenovation.com (the “Website”) and the website-related dealings you have with Fine Finish Painting and Renovation Ltd. (“Fine Finish,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

Renovation work is governed by a separate written estimate, quote, or contract signed by you and Fine Finish (“Project Agreement”). If these Terms conflict with a signed Project Agreement, the Project Agreement prevails for that project.

2. About Our Services

We provide residential renovation and remodeling services in the Edmonton, Alberta area, including kitchen remodeling, bathroom renovation, interior upgrades, flooring installation, home extensions, and painting and finishing. Service availability may vary and is subject to scheduling, location, and project scope.

3. Website Use

You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website or its systems
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or harmful code
  • Copy, scrape, or reproduce Website content for commercial use without our written permission
  • Use the Website in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it

4. Enquiries, Consultations, and Quotes

  • Submitting a contact form or requesting a consultation does not create a binding contract.
  • Any consultation, estimate, or quote is based on the information available to us at the time, and may change after a site inspection or if the project scope changes.
  • Quotes are valid for [30] days unless stated otherwise.
  • A binding agreement is formed only when a Project Agreement is signed and, if required, any deposit is received.

5. Pricing, Payment, and Deposits

Unless your Project Agreement states otherwise:

  • A deposit of [__%] may be required before work begins or materials are ordered.
  • Payment schedules, milestones, and final payment terms will be set out in your Project Agreement.
  • Late payments may incur interest of [__% per month] and may result in work being paused.
  • Additional work, material upgrades, or changes requested by you (change orders) may affect price and timeline and must be agreed in writing before work proceeds.
  • Applicable taxes, including GST, are added to prices unless stated otherwise.

6. Project Timelines

We aim to complete projects on schedule and communicate openly about timing. Timelines are estimates and may be affected by factors outside our control, including weather, material delays, permit approvals, hidden structural or site conditions, change requests, or limited access to the property. We are not liable for delays caused by these factors.

7. Client Responsibilities

For each project, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about your property and requirements
  • Ensure we have safe, timely access to the work area
  • Confirm you own the property or have the owner’s authority to authorize the work
  • Move or protect valuables and fragile items in the work area
  • Make decisions and approvals promptly so the schedule is not delayed
  • Disclose known hazards, such as asbestos, mould, lead paint, or structural issues, where aware

8. Permits and Compliance

Where permits or inspections are required, responsibility for obtaining them will be stated in your Project Agreement. We will carry out work in line with applicable building codes and regulations in Alberta.

9. Hidden Conditions

Renovation work can reveal conditions that could not be foreseen, such as damaged framing, plumbing or electrical problems, water damage, or hazardous materials. If these are discovered, we will notify you, and the cost or timeline may need to be adjusted by agreement.

10. Warranty

We stand behind the quality of our workmanship. Workmanship warranty terms, including duration and coverage, will be set out in your Project Agreement [e.g., one (1) year on workmanship]. Warranties do not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage from misuse, neglect, or accidents
  • Work altered or repaired by others
  • Defects in materials covered by manufacturer warranties (we will help pass these claims on where possible)
  • Issues arising from conditions outside our control

11. Insurance and Liability

We maintain insurance as required for our business [confirm coverage, e.g., general liability and WCB coverage]. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fine Finish is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Website or our services. Our total liability for any claim relating to a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project, unless the law provides otherwise. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

12. Cancellation

  • You may cancel a project in writing before work begins. Deposits may be non-refundable to the extent we have incurred costs, including ordered materials, special-order items, or scheduling commitments.
  • If you cancel after work has started, you will pay for work completed and materials purchased to that date.
  • We may pause or cancel a project if payment is not made, if site conditions are unsafe, or if access is denied.

Where applicable, consumer rights under Alberta’s Consumer Protection Act, including any cancellation rights, are not affected by these Terms.

13. Photos and Project Portfolio

We may photograph completed work and use images in our portfolio, website, and social media. We will not publish photos that identify your address or show personal items, and we will not use your name without your permission. You may opt out by notifying us in writing before or after the project.

14. Intellectual Property

All Website content, including text, logos, graphics, images, and design, belongs to Fine Finish or its licensors and is protected by Canadian copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce or use it without written permission. Design concepts, drawings, or plans we prepare remain our property unless your Project Agreement states otherwise.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Any legal action will be brought in the courts of Alberta, and you agree to their jurisdiction.
